Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it to deliver and improve Dread Crown.

1. Information We Collect

• Email and username (upon signup)
• Gameplay data (ELO rating, match history, combat statistics)
• Device and browser metadata
• Optional: Google account info (via Google OAuth)
• Optional: marketing email address, consent source, and confirmation status when you join the Dread Crown mailing list

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Operate the game and enable multiplayer features
• Match you fairly with other players
• Generate personalized gameplay experiences
• Debug issues, analyze performance, and improve game balance
• With your explicit consent, send five newcomer emails during your first week, followed by occasional Dread Crown updates, events, and offers

We process data based on your consent and our legitimate interest in providing and improving the service. Marketing email is processed only after you actively opt in and confirm your subscription by email. The signup checkbox is optional and unchecked by default.

3. Sharing and Storage

• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• Data is stored securely using encrypted, access-controlled systems.
• Third-party processors include Supabase (authentication, database), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery and mailing-list management), Cloudflare (security, CDN), and Google Analytics (usage statistics). Each operates under its own privacy policy and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, most data (including ELO and match history) is permanently removed within 30 days, except for minimal logs retained for security and fraud prevention. Mailing-list contact data is retained by Resend until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, subject to limited suppression records needed to honor your opt-out.

5. Cookies

Dread Crown uses minimal cookies for session handling and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not work properly.

6. Your Rights

• You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time.
• Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, such as data portability or objection to processing.
• You may withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email. This does not affect your Dread Crown account or transactional account emails.

7. Children

Dread Crown is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
